Edwin Bower Hesser's Early Hollywood Nudes
Controversial Hollywood master photographer and publisher of risque magazines in the 1920s, Edwin Bower Hesser had an inspired genius for figure photography. He did PR photos for the movies, plus theatrical portraits and scenes, and many indoor nudes. But his real specialty was ethereal gorgeous "Naturist" studies, in the light of the sun ... at the ocean, in the woods, rocks and streams. Though well known in the Roaring 20s, Hesser's work is obscure, rare and highly collectible today. Baraka presents an excellent biography of Hesser's colorful life, along with an extraordinary selection of his best photos.
